Textiles and Evergreen Fog

Coarse, natural fabrics with rough surfaces add a tactile, yet somehow soft look — think tweeds and untreated yarns. These fabrics, along with organic materials and natural shapes, provide a beautiful complement.

Would this Evergreen Fog palette work with Edgecomb Gray instead of the Accessible Beige? Thank you very much.

    1. Hi Rose-Marie! Benjamin Moore’s Edgecomb Gray is in the Yellow hue family and pairs nicely with the colors in this Evergreen Fog palette. It has a higher LRV than Accessible Beige (63 vs. 58) which means it will reflect more available light. It’s also has a higher chroma value than Accessible Beige so it may look a bit “yellower” and Accessible Beige a bit “grayer” when they’re compared side-by-side. It’s important to note, however, these colors come from two completely different manufacturers. I NEVER recommend color matching between brands. You cannot color match between brands and expect to get identical results. So be prepared to visit two different paint stores for this combination. Remember, color perception will be influenced heavily by your lighting and environment so make sure you’re using the right light bulbs to evaluate your paint color using large swatch samples before committing to a color choice! If you’re looking for something similar to this Edgecomb Gray in the Sherwin-Williams brand, take a look at SW 9516 Accolade (Emerald Collection only) or SW 7632 Modern Gray. You can read my full color review of Edgecomb Gray here: https://threebearshomestaging.com/2024/05/24/paint-color-review-edgecomb-gray-hc-173/. Happy painting!

Hello, I like the color for exterior of our home, can this paint be used outside.?

    1. Yes, Evergreen Fog makes a great exterior color, but you must make sure the actual paint product itself is specified for exterior use. Talk to your local Sherwin-Williams in-store pro about what they recommend. I’d take a look at Sherwin-Williams Duration. Good luck!

Hi! Do you know what color the trim is in the photos provided?

    1. Hi Morgan! I do not know, but the photos are from the Sherwin-Williams press kit for Evergreen Fog (they are not photos of my color consult or home staging clients). You may be able to reach out to them directly for the answer. Hope that help!
